Head of Marketing (Retail)
Edinburgh | £60,000.00 –£70,000.00 + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Marketing to join a highly successful and established retail business based in Edinburgh. The business has built a strong reputation, a loyal customer base, and an impressive track record of growth. With an established retail presence and a successful operation already in place, the next stage of the journey is about maximizing the opportunities that exist both within the existing business and in new markets.
We are looking for a commercially minded marketing professional who can take ownership of the marketing strategy and help the business identify where further growth can be achieved. A key part of the role will be looking at international customer opportunities, particularly the potential to attract greater levels of custom from China and other high-value international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy, aligned to the company's commercial objectives.
- Identifying new customer and market opportunities and developing strategies to capitalize on them.
- Exploring opportunities to attract increased custom from China, Asia, and other international markets, developing an understanding of the customer journey and what is required to successfully engage these audiences.
- Maximizing the commercial opportunity across the existing retail store network, using customer insight, local activity, campaigns, and targeted marketing to drive footfall and sales.
- Developing campaigns that are commercially focused, measurable, and capable of delivering a clear return on investment.
- Strengthening the company's brand positioning while ensuring marketing activity translates into tangible commercial results.
- Using customer data, market intelligence, and performance analysis to identify opportunities for growth.

About You
This role would suit an experienced marketing professional who is commercially minded, strategically strong, and comfortable being hands-on when required.
- Strong experience developing and delivering successful marketing strategies.
- Experience working within a multi-site retail or customer-facing environment would be highly advantageous.
- A genuine commercial mindset, with the ability to demonstrate how marketing activity has directly contributed to revenue and business growth.
- Experience using customer insight and data to influence marketing decisions.
- An understanding of international customers and the opportunities presented by Chinese and wider Asian markets would be highly desirable.
