Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be leading a retained and confidential search for a Head of Marketing to join an ambitious, established consumer business with a growing footprint across the UK.

The business has grown successfully since inception, with marketing evolving organically alongside that growth. There is an established brand, a loyal customer base and significant opportunity ahead, but there is now a need to bring greater strategic focus, structure and commercial thinking to the marketing function. This appointment will play an important role in the next phase of the business. The Head of Marketing will have the opportunity to shape the marketing strategy, strengthen the brand, develop a deeper understanding of the customer and create a more structured approach to engagement, retention and growth.

With the backing of an ambitious leadership team and genuine appetite for investment and new ideas, there is considerable scope for the successful person to make their mark.

Role

As Head of Marketing, you will take ownership of the marketing strategy and its execution across a multi-site UK business. The remit is broad, covering brand, digital, CRM, customer experience, content and commercial marketing. You will review the current approach, understand what is working well and where the greatest opportunities lie, and develop a clear marketing strategy aligned to the wider growth plans of the business.

A key part of the role will be bringing greater structure and consistency to marketing, alongside improving how customer insight and performance data are used to inform activity and investment. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and wider business, with the opportunity to influence both the customer proposition and broader commercial strategy.

  • Develop and lead a clear, commercially focused marketing strategy aligned to the growth ambitions of the business.
  • Build structure, consistency and measurement across marketing activity.
  • Strengthen the brand and how it is brought to life across multiple locations and customer touchpoints.
  • Develop campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, footfall, retention and revenue.
  • Develop the approach to CRM and customer engagement, building stronger relationships throughout the customer journey.
  • Use customer insight, market trends and performance data to identify opportunities and influence commercial decisions.
  • Establish a structured marketing calendar across digital, content, campaigns, partnerships and customer communications.
  • Lead and develop the marketing team, creating clear priorities, accountability and consistency.
  • Identify new ideas, partnerships and opportunities to enhance the customer experience and support growth.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team, ensuring marketing plays a meaningful role in wider commercial and strategic decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate

We are looking for a commercially minded marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with the ability to deliver. You may have worked within a consumer-facing, leisure, hospitality, retail, multi-site or similarly customer-led environment. Sector experience is less important than an understanding of customers, brand and how effective marketing can contribute to commercial performance.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has operated at Head of Marketing or senior marketing leadership level or is ready to make that step.
  • Can move comfortably between strategy and execution.
  • Understands the relationship between brand, customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Has strong experience across digital, CRM, customer engagement and content.
  • Uses data and insight to make informed decisions and measure performance.
  • Brings creativity, curiosity and fresh thinking.
  • Can introduce structure and focus while remaining comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Is confident influencing senior stakeholders and building support for new initiatives.
  • Enjoys taking ownership and seeing ideas through from concept to delivery.
