Head of Marketing - Urban Pubs & Bars - London - Office and site based
Role Overview
Office - The Marlborough Head, Drury Lane, Covent Garden, Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director
Know your London pubs? Got strong opinions on what makes a brand stand out, a campaign land and a launch the place everyone wants to be? We should talk.
Urban Pubs & Bars are looking for a Head of Marketing to help make our brilliant pubs, bars and restaurants the places people can’t stop talking about. From neighbourhood locals with bags of personality to Salt Yard’s restaurants and the competitive socialising buzz of Bat & Ball, this is a brief with plenty to get your teeth into.
We’re a growing business with a simple ambition: to create the best and most admired pub, bar and restaurant company in London. Our venues are individual, and their marketing should be too. You’ll build fame for our brands while making sure every pub feels part of its neighbourhood.
Now we’re after someone to lead the charge...
You’ll Be The Sort Of Person Who
- Lives and breathes hospitality — you know the London food and drink scene, what’s making noise and what makes people book a table.
- Has led brand and marketing strategy before and can show the impact — stronger awareness, busier venues and more covers.
- Brings big ideas and knows how to make them happen — clear briefs, sharp campaigns and events people want to turn up to.
- Understands how to keep a brand consistent while giving individual venues room to show their personality.
- Builds brilliant relationships — with General Managers, suppliers, partners, press, influencers and agencies.
- Has a commercial head as well as a creative one — comfortable owning budgets, setting priorities and making the spend work hard.
- Leads with energy, develops their team and stays calm when the campaign calendar gets busy.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
