About The Role

The Mathematics lead will have responsibility for the educational and pastoral provision.

The Mathematics lead will co-ordinate and Quality Assure the educational offer for their students, ensuring an aspirational and bespoke package.

The Head/Teacher of Mathematics will be held to account to the teacher standards as well as the outcomes of their subject teaching.


Responsibilities & Aims:

  • Set expectations and targets for staff and students in relation to standards of student achievement
  • Report every term to Governors & the Head on key outputs & Indicators
  • Have responsibility for the supervision and direction of teaching and support staff within the maths department
  • To design a creative curriculum to suit a wide range of needs and abilities whilst offering a broad range of activities
  • To undertake performance management for your department
  • Create a climate which enables other staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards the subject and confidence in teaching it
  • To deliver GCSE Mathematics at KS4/5
  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning across the school
