Academic: Associate Professor £54,893 - £63,606 / Professor £61,759 - £71,566 (0.5-1.0 FTE)

Clinical Academic: Associate Professor/Professor £90,000 - £139,000 per annum, pro-rata (0.5 FTE)

Job Summary

The postholder will oversee the student’s assessment journey across Phase 1 and 2 (Years 1-5) of the MBBS course and will work with the Executive Dean of Medicine, Director of UG Medicine and Heads of Phase to plan, manage and deliver a coherent assessment strategy in accordance with the GMC regulations, internal requirements, and our contingency partner. The role addresses all aspects of assessment, including formative and summative assessments; workplace-based assessments; ePortfolio, student feedback, and assessor training and recruitment.

The postholder will draw upon their academic experience to carry out research, scholarship, enterprise, and engagement, teaching, leadership, and management within the School of Medicine.

The role is ideal for someone looking to join a forward-thinking new School, committed to addressing inequalities. We are looking for a postholder with experience of Medical Education assessment, including designing, blueprinting, and quality assuring assessments in medicine / health undergraduate programmes. The postholder will also have a knowledge of internal and external quality assurance frameworks, including validation methods in medical education.
