About NEXT.io
At NEXT.io, we are the premier B2B and B2C content and events company for the global gambling and prediction markets industries. We pride ourselves on integrity-led journalism, and we are building the commercial business that proves credibility is an asset rather than a constraint.
The Role
We have a highly-valuable media portfolio across five publications that include sponsorships, content, display, research and more. This is a commercial role with a product title. You will own what we sell, how it is packaged, how it is bundled and forecast the next growth phases. You will work together with our Commercial Director on pricing and with Sales on the deals in front of them. Just as importantly, you will be the person asking what else this business could monetize: new formats, new products, new revenue lines beyond the portfolio we have today. You will lead the delivery function through the Media Products Delivery Lead, so you own the whole arc from how a product is invented to whether the client got what they paid for.
What You'll Actually Do
- Own the Commercial Portfolio — Take full ownership of the media product portfolio across all publications. One menu, one set of definitions, one roadmap — so a product means the same thing wherever it is sold, and nobody is inventing packages on a call.
- Grow the Book, Not Just Run It — Set and deliver the growth plan for the portfolio. Build the commercial case for new products, extend the menu onto new publications and markets as they launch, and be intentional about reworking or retiring what is not working.
- Find the Revenue Nobody Has Found Yet — This is the part we care about most. Look hard at our content, our audiences, our data and our events, and bring us new ways to monetize them beyond the current portfolio including but not limited to multimedia and newsletter formats, research and data products, memberships, licensing, lead products, event-led packages, affiliate-adjacent plays. Bring ideas, size them, test them fast, and let the data drive the decisions.
- Be the Commercial Engine Room for Sales — Run the deal desk. Design bundles and cross-sell logic, review the non-standard offers before they go out, protect margin and capacity, and give Sales the collateral and the confidence to sell a premium portfolio. You will feed the product, inventory and cost logic into pricing. Our Commercial Director owns the pricing strategy, you own the thinking behind what sits on it.
- Run It on Numbers — Own sell-through, rate realization, renewal and product margin. Identify and inform others about which lines are over- and under-performing, why, and what your priorities are in addressing performance.
- Lead Delivery and Protect the Firewall — Manage and develop the Media Products Delivery Lead, and make sure what we sell is genuinely deliverable. Commercial never influences editorial here and everything is labelled properly. That firewall is exactly why sponsors pay a premium, and you will be one of its guardians.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who You Are
- You have grown a commercial portfolio — You can point to a media, content or audience revenue line you took ownership of and materially grew and explain precisely how you did it.
- You are a monetization thinker — You look at an audience and see revenue models other people have not tried yet. Five or more years in commercial, media product, yield or digital revenue roles, ideally including B2B media, publishing, events or a digital agency.
- You are commercially literate to the decimal — You work fluently with margin, cost of sales, discount impact, sell-through, yield and can explain them to people who do not.
- You get things done through people who do not report to you — You can influence others including editorial, sales, marketing, design and developers.
- You are a builder — You are comfortable with a blank page, first-year inventory, introductory pricing and markets where the data is still thin.
- You will not trade credibility for a quick sale — You understand why editorial independence is the commercial asset, and you can hold that line with a client who is pushing.
