Working closely with Operations, Buying, Design, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams, the Head of Merchandising will lead planning, forecasting and trading activities, driving commercial decisions through data, insight and market trends.
As a key member of the leadership team, the role will play a critical part in supporting business growth, maximising product performance and ensuring stock is managed effectively across all channels.

- Manage the Open-to-Buy, controlling commitment and intake to protect cash flow and stock health
- Lead range planning with Buying, defining option counts, depth, price architecture and the product mix by channel
- Plan stock intake and phasing against the critical path, working with Buying and Supply Chain to manage lead times and delivery windows
- Develop store grading, clustering and channel-specific plans to tailor ranges to customer demand

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
