Metric Bio | Leeds
At Metric, we don’t play small.
We’re a private equity-backed executive and specialist search firm, founded in New York in 2019 and built to raise the standard of specialist search.
We don’t just hire recruiters. We build world class million-dollar billers, commercial leaders and people who want to build something bigger than a desk. With average billings across the business at $532K as well as, 8 $1M+ billers & our top biller doing over $2M+ in perm revenue, you’ll be surrounded by the highest performers in the industry & take home the top 1% of earnings across the UK.
The Opportunity
This is not a standard recruitment leadership role.
We’re hiring a Head of Metric Bio to take the business unit to its next level, based out of our Leeds office that broke the Metric record for highest revenue within it’s first 12 months of opening.
You’ll lead from the front, manage and develop a high-performing team, drive commercial performance and help shape what Metric Bio becomes next. You’ll work alongside Sam Marshall, who broke the fastest $1M+ billed record in his first 12 months at Metric, with a mandate to build the team, grow the market and create the next generation of top performers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a leadership role with real commercial ownership.
We want someone who has already proven they can build, lead and bill, who now want the platform, autonomy and earning potential to do it at a different level.
What We’re Looking For
We’re not looking for someone who simply wants a bigger title.
We’re looking for a proven recruitment operator who:
- Has a proven track record of success within Life Science, Oncology, Medical Device, Biotechnology, Consumer, Personal Care or animal health
- Is driven by the fast pace of working in a rapidly growing business
- Thinks commercially and knows how to turn strategy into revenue
- Wants genuine ownership over a division, not just responsibility for a team
- Has the ambition to build a multi-million dollar platform
- Thrives under high standards, relentless pace and rising expectations - and wants to be rewarded for breaking records, outperforming targets and raising the bar for everyone around them.
If your ambition has outgrown your current platform, this is the conversation to have.
