Role Overview 📝
As the Head of Network Ops, you are accountable for the execution of HIVED’s first and middle-mile network. You are responsible for the overarching performance of our Network Operations team, managing a 24/7 operation across multiple shifts. Your role is to ensure that we are hitting the right balance of high quality in our collections network against Cost Per Collected parcel, ensuring that our managers and associates have the leadership, resources, and processes needed to run a world-class network. You take point on developing the function to be scalable and automated across multiple geographies.
What you’ll be doing 🚀
Team Leadership
- Overseeing the key deliverables of the Network ops team, challenging outputs where appropriate to ensure processes are being followed
- Represent the NOps team to key internal and external stakeholders. You are the voice of NOps to the rest of the business, representing the function up to exec level, and being the face of HIVED to shippers and other external stakeholders
- Create a high performing team with clear accountabilities and development plans
- Act as key point of escalation for all Network Ops related issues
- Define operating rhythms, frameworks, and cadences for the Network Ops function
- Support the Network Director with budgeting and adherence to plan exercises

Strategy
- Define and own the vision and strategy for the Network Ops team
- Ensure the strategic priorities of the exec board and ops leadership team are being adhered to within Network Ops
- Develop the long-term strategy and roadmap for the Network Ops function to meet the demands of the business as HIVED scales
- Work with functional leaders (e.g. in Run Time Ops) to develop best practices and ways of working
- Provide input into the Planning team around network design and key decision making areas
Cross-Functional Working
- Work with other senior leaders in the business (i.e. CCO, SVP Central Ops) to ensure that teams are collaborating in the correct manner and that the appropriate demands of each function are being met
- Balance competing needs of our haulage and parcel businesses to ensure the needs of both are met
- Maintain a strong culture of compliance and safety for our collections on the road in collaboration with the Transport team
What we’re looking for 🔎
- 7+ years in operations management across logistics, last-mile, or eCommerce. Line haul transportation experience is preferable
- Strong people manager with experience in managing and supporting large and decentralized teams
- Experience running both build and execution environments, preferably within a logistics setting
- Proven track record of building SOPs and managing KPIs through a team
- Data-driven, structured problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
