APS Packaging is a leading UK manufacturer of new wooden pallets, wooden shipping crates, and protective packaging for a wide range of distribution needs. The company specializes in secure, sustainable solutions that protect valuable, fragile, and non-standard size items, supported by ISPM15 certification for export and three ISO accreditations for quality, management, and environment. With over 25 years of experience, a skilled workforce, and a 300,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility, APS Packaging can hold stock and deliver consistently across the South West through its in-house HGV delivery team. The business also provides hybrid packaging solutions that combine wood, cardboard, and consumable packaging to create tailored, total packaging solutions, with national and international delivery options available.
Role Description
The Head of New Business and Partnerships is a full-time, on-site role based in Bideford, responsible for driving growth through new customer acquisition and strategic partnerships. This role involves:

- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities
- Developing and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers
- Building long-term partnerships in target markets
The position includes overseeing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and proposal development to negotiation and contract closure, while coordinating with production, operations, and logistics to ensure customer requirements are met. The Head of New Business and Partnerships will also contribute to commercial strategy, prepare business plans and forecasts, monitor market trends and competitor activity, and represent APS Packaging at customer meetings, industry events, and site visits.
Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Business Development, with a track record of winning and growing accounts.
- Strong Sales skills, including pipeline management, negotiation, and closing complex B2B deals.
- Experience in Business Strategy and Business Planning, including setting growth targets, forecasting, and market analysis.
- Background in packaging, manufacturing, logistics, or related sectors is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and commercial metrics to inform decisions.
- Comfort working on-site in Bideford and visiting customer locations as required.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in business, sales, or a related field.
