InnovateHer is on a mission to ‘get girls ready for the tech industry and the tech industry ready for girls.’ We’re looking for an experienced Head of New Business Development to join us for 12 months, taking ownership of new business development and keeping our growth momentum strong.
This is a senior role for someone who already knows how to open doors in the public sector and education space, and who wants to make a tangible impact on a growing social enterprise in a defined window of time. You’ll work alongside our Head of Growth and Partnerships, who continues to own our existing corporate partner relationships, upselling and social value work, your focus ownership of a new area of business development.
Your role in our team
This role is a great opportunity to shape InnovateHer’s commercial future, with the successful candidate taking ownership of a new area of business development. Working alongside our Head of Growth & Partnerships and the wider team, you’ll lead the growth of our education and public sector pipeline, helping schools, trusts and public sector organisations access our programmes and new digital learning platform. You’ll also work closely with our corporate partnerships, building on existing relationships and identifying opportunities where they can support and accelerate growth across the education sector.
- You’ll be trusted to manage your own pipeline and sales cycle, while staying closely aligned with both the Head of Growth and wider leadership team, ensuring our overall growth strategy stays joined up.
- You’ll also have the opportunity to support building out our sales function for our digital platform later in the role, once the platform is more established.
What you’ll do
- Lead the growth of InnovateHer’s education and public sector pipeline, securing new partnerships with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), Combined Authorities and other public sector organisations.
- Build new partnerships with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and schools, driving strategic partnerships and adoption of our digital platform.
- Lead on relevant bid opportunities, partnering with colleagues across the team depending on focus area.
- Build and manage a strong outbound sales pipeline, using tools such as Apollo to run efficient, automated cold and warm outreach across corporate and public sector audiences.
- Support international market expansion where relevant experience or contacts exist.
- Understand how social value and educational delivery are positioned within public sector and grant bid submissions, and bring that thinking into your pitches and proposals.
- Work closely with the Head of Growth, who retains ownership of existing corporate partner relationships, upselling and social value delivery, to keep our growth approach joined up.
- Support recruitment of a dedicated Sales team for the digital platform later in the contract.
- Represent InnovateHer confidently and strategically in senior conversations with combined authorities, MATs and corporate partners.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
