It plays a central role in setting the tone and pace for a high-growth part of the global Bowring Marsh business and is expected to lead from the front on digital and AI adoption, new product delivery, and revenue growth. The role also requires the ability to lead change, solve complex problems, and work effectively with wider Bowring Marsh EC and Specialty placement leadership. This role sits on the UK Bowring Marsh Executive Committee.

Principal Accountabilities

Placement Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of focused market strategies that leverage Marsh’s scale, product and industry knowledge, and market relationships.
  • Act as a senior escalation point and troubleshooter for significant or complex placement deals.
  • Support complex placements and lead the delivery of analytics and data to drive placement strategy.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with influential market partners to improve market access and outcomes.

Client Solutions / Growth

  • Maintain a strong profile with key clients and network offices and ensure this visibility is cascaded through the team.
  • Promote a growth mindset that strengthens client engagement, market deal-making, and opportunity conversion.
  • Align travel plans and client engagement activity to client priorities and business impact.
  • Contribute to RFP activity and support the Marsh network on initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Support new business and retention strategies through strong market-facing execution.

Product Innovation & Digital

  • In partnership with the Placement Leader and other key stakeholders, own the development and enhancements of products, digital trading and data driven capabilities that create genuine competitive advantage, including:
    • Drive broader deployment and indexation of existing core products.
    • Lead product development and delivery — translating new ideas into commercially successful, scalable solutions taken to market at pace.
    • Leading AI adoption as a strategic priority for the team — identifying use cases, driving take-up, and embedding AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
