THE ROLE
The Head of NPD helps shape the future of REFY’s Product portfolio, working 2–3 years ahead to shape and deliver the future NPD and innovation pipeline across all Product categories, including core NPD, colour extensions, retail exclusives, GWPs, sampling and accessories. Working closely with our Founder & CEO, they bring together bold creative thinking, customer insight and Product expertise to create innovative, brand-defining products. They lead the NPD team through Product development, from early concept and validation through to production and continuous improvement.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and deliver REFY’s 3-year NPD and innovation pipeline, aligned with the Global Product Strategy and wider Brand, Marketing and Commercial priorities.
- Work directly with our Founder & CEO on Product vision, concepts and key Product decisions, translating creative ambition into clear, differentiated Product opportunities.
- Lead the creation of bold, differentiated Product concepts that push for world-first, first-to-market and protectable innovation, while solving real customer needs and creating a clear reason to believe.
- Lead Product development across formula, claims, packaging, shades and application, ensuring the Product remains true to the agreed vision and brief throughout development.
- Build customer, community and accessibility learning into Product Development, ensuring testing happens early enough to challenge, validate and improve Product and packaging decisions.
- Lead the NPD team on Product vision, innovation and development, partnering closely with the PD Project Manager to ensure priorities, milestones, risks and NPD Gates remain clear and on track.
- Lead Monthly Product Reviews and Product sign-offs with the Founder & CEO, bringing clear recommendations and ensuring key Product decisions are made at the right time.
- Stay ahead of market trends, customer behaviour, emerging technologies and supplier innovation to identify future Product and category opportunities.
- Partner closely with Technical & Compliance, Product Marketing & Education, Project Delivery, Brand, Commercial and regional teams, ensuring quality, customer experience, global readiness and launch requirements are considered early.
- Review post-launch and Core & Hero Product performance, using customer/community feedback, quality learning and Product performance to identify continuous Product, packaging and customer-experience improvements.
- Represent NPD internally and externally, including presenting and pitching Product to global retail partners.
- Own NPD departmental goals, budget and team performance.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Proven senior-level experience leading NPD and managing a high-performing team within the beauty industry.
- Strong track record of creating and delivering innovative, differentiated beauty products from early concept through to launch.
- Experience working directly with a Founder / Founder-led business is highly desirable, with the ability to translate creative vision and instinct into clear Product direction and action.
- In-depth knowledge of the makeup and skincare market, trends, competitors and emerging innovation.
- Strong creative and commercial mindset, with a customer and community-led approach to Product development.
- Confident balancing creative ambition with Product quality, commercial viability, timelines and technical requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills, with the confidence to challenge thinking and make clear recommendations.
- Comfortable stepping into a fast-moving environment, quickly building trust and making confident Product decisions.
- Confident working with senior leadership, global suppliers and retail partners.
