ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Online Trading to join the Bamford Collection on a 9-month fixed-term contract, leading the online commercial performance of our luxury lifestyle brands, Daylesford and Bamford. Reporting to the Ecommerce & Digital Director, you will drive the trading, optimisation and ongoing development of both ecommerce websites, ensuring they deliver outstanding commercial performance while reflecting each brand's distinctive identity.

This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping the digital customer journey, enhancing online merchandising, and delivering a seamless, connected experience that inspires customers to discover the best of both brands. Combining strategic vision with a data-driven approach, you will use customer insights and trading performance to optimise the online experience, maximise growth, and uphold the exceptional standards synonymous with the Bamford Collection.

SALARY - £80,000 - £85,000 per annum

LOCATION: Based at the Daylesford Farm, Gloucestershire, office based 5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Trading

  • Lead the ecommerce trading strategy for Daylesford and Bamford, driving revenue, profitability, conversion and customer growth across the UK and international markets.
  • Monitor trading performance, identify opportunities, and deliver data-driven initiatives to achieve commercial targets.
  • Work closely with Marketing, CRM and Product teams to optimise customer acquisition, retention and online sales.

Website & Customer Experience

  • Lead the optimisation and ongoing development of both ecommerce websites, delivering a best-in-class customer journey through continuous testing and conversion rate optimisation.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Content and Product teams to deliver engaging campaigns, product launches and digital storytelling.
  • Ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience by working closely with operational teams, from fulfilment through to delivery.

Brand & Digital Strategy

  • Strengthen the digital connection between Daylesford and Bamford, creating opportunities for cross-brand discovery while maintaining each brand's unique identity.
  • Ensure both websites authentically reflect the brands' values, aesthetics and premium positioning.

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the Online Trading Managers, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing team culture.
  • Champion a data-led approach, driving continuous improvement, innovation and accountability across the ecommerce function.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a senior ecommerce trading or online merchandising role, ideally within the luxury retail or premium lifestyle sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving online sales and profitability.
  • Excellent understanding of ecommerce platforms, analytics tools, and optimisation techniques. Experience with Magento is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience developing and delivering CRO programmes, ideally in collaboration with external development or UX partners.
  • Demonstrable experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, creative, operations, and product teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, while working at pace to deliver results, with an appreciation for brand presentation and storytelling.
  • Inspirational people leader & clear communicator, with experience of developing, mentoring & retaining high-performing teams.
