Inside IR35 - day rate negotiable

We're partnering with a growing UK financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Operational Risk. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the operational risk framework within a regulated business, working closely with the Chief Risk Officer and senior stakeholders.

The Opportunity

You'll play a pivotal role in embedding and overseeing the Operational Risk Management Framework across the business, providing independent challenge, strengthening governance, and helping to drive a strong risk culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Manage core operational risk processes including RCSAs, risk events, control testing and governance.
  • Provide second-line oversight and challenge across key business activities.
  • Support Board and Executive Risk Committees with insightful reporting and analysis.
  • Enhance operational resilience and non-financial risk management.
  • Lead thematic reviews and monitor remediation activities.
  • Promote a positive risk culture through training, coaching and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging operational risks.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Significant operational risk experience within a regulated financial services environment (banking experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Risk frameworks, RCSAs, control testing and risk event management.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and Board committees.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A pragmatic, commercial approach with the ability to challenge constructively.
