Head of Operations, EMEA | Leading Global Quantitative Trading Firm
Location: Dublin
Point One Talent is partnering with a leading global quantitative trading firm to appoint a Head of Operations for its European trading entities.
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the regional operations strategy, develop a high-performing team and scale the function to support growth across trading volumes, products and markets.
The remit spans Trading Operations and Core Operations, with close partnership across Trading, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Risk, alongside global colleagues in the US and Asia-Pacific.
Key responsibilities
- Set the multi-year strategy and roadmap for EMEA Operations, aligned with trading performance and business growth.
- Build and develop a high-performing operations team, with a strong focus on coaching, talent development and building bench strength.
- Scale the regional operating model across asset classes, venues and legal entities, including capacity planning and global coverage.
- Lead operational change, automation and the integration of new products, markets, clearing and settlement models.
- Oversee trade support, settlement, corporate actions and stock loan controls, acting as a senior escalation point for trading desks.
- Own operational resilience and business continuity requirements, alongside outsourcing governance.
- Manage senior relationships with prime brokers, market infrastructure partners and global stakeholders.

Candidate profile
We are seeking an experienced operations leader from a trading firm, market maker, investment bank or hedge fund, with:

- A strong record of developing people and scaling an operations function through significant growth or change.
- Deep working knowledge of the equities and derivatives trade lifecycle, clearing and settlement.
- Deep working knowledge of the EMEA regulatory landscape, including MiFID II, CSDR, EMIR and operational resilience requirements.
- Proven delivery of transformation programmes in partnership with Trading and Technology.
- The commercial judgment and influence to contribute to regional leadership decisions within a global trading business.
