GenHQ - Head of Operations

London-based · Full-time · Remote, with potential to move to hybrid · £70,000–£90,000 DOE

About GenHQ

GenHQ is the world's leading creative AI education and media company, and we're growing fast. Our mission is to create 100,000 jobs in the creative AI industry, and we're doing it through three things: the best education in the space, the most impressive visual content anywhere, and social reach that's made us the go-to partner for the biggest AI brands on the planet. We reach 1.7M+ followers across platforms (flagship: Instagram @rourke), and our socials are our go-to-market. Our education arm on Skool is one of the largest creative AI communities anywhere, members range from total beginners to Oscar-winning VFX artists, and we run in-person events worldwide. We're a small, tight team that moves faster in a week than most companies do in a month, and we've got major new ventures launching that'll push us further toward that 100,000-jobs goal, the first of which, a marketplace connecting creative AI talent with the companies hiring them, launches within weeks.

The Role

As Head of Operations, you'll own the systems and day-to-day operations that keep GenHQ running and growing. It's a role for someone who wants real ownership of how a fast-moving company works behind the scenes, and who has the experience to build and run that operation with very little direction.

You'll work across every part of the business, from finance and legal to hiring, compliance, and the launch of new ventures, bringing structure and momentum to a company that moves quickly. You'll partner closely with the Founder/CEO, the Chief of Staff, and the Financial Controller, and you'll manage our Operations Assistant.

This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role. You'll be trusted to identify what needs doing and drive it forward independently, moving fluidly between owning the operational essentials and jumping into whatever the priority of the day demands. Some days that's making sure the company's compliance and admin are airtight; others it's coordinating a product launch or working alongside the team to keep a major project on track. You'll be genuinely involved across the business, close to the decisions, and central to keeping everything moving.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll take pride in a company that runs well, and you'll grow with us as we scale.

What you'll own

  • Company infrastructure & compliance: The operational backbone that keeps a real business legal and running: Companies House filings, contracts and NDAs, GDPR and data protection, EOR arrangements for our international team members, and share option scheme setup alongside finance and legal. You'll keep the company's operational to-do list tracked, actioned, and moving.
  • Hiring & talent: End-to-end recruitment across the business, from sourcing through shortlisting, offers, and onboarding. You'll build clear, structured shortlists for the Founder and Chief of Staff, and coordinate contracts and onboarding with the Financial Controller.
  • Finance operations: Working with our Financial Controller to keep financial tracking accurate and give the business clean, decision-ready visibility on spend and budgets across each part of the company. You'll be a point of coordination on day-to-day finance so the financial controller isn't pulled into every detail, and you'll flag anything that needs attention early.
  • Reporting & Rhythm: Building the reporting rhythm across the business, editing, community, finance, and the marketplace, so each area gives one clean top-line update rather than scattered messages throughout the day. You'll run structured check-ins, keep meetings focused with clear agendas and outcomes, and maintain a goal-tracking system so everyone knows what they're working towards and how it's going.
  • New ventures: We've got a marketplace launching now and a second entity being set up around it. You'll coordinate between developers, finance, and legal to keep it on track, and own the operational side of standing up a new company, banking, registration, contractor agreements, and the intercompany structure that connects it to GenHQ.

Who you are

  • You've done this in a startup before. You were an early hire at a fast-growing company, the kind of place where you wore every hat, there was no playbook, and you figured it out anyway. Ours won't faze you, because you've operated in that kind of environment and you know how to move a business forward without being handed a map.
  • You come from something creative or fast-moving. Social media, marketing, media, content, or a creative startup, somewhere you learned to operate in a world that changes by the day. We're deeply social-media-native, and you'll be at home in that world rather than lost in it.
  • You're proactive and driven. You see what's coming three months out, spot the blocker before it becomes a problem, and act without waiting to be asked. You care about the work and it shows.
  • You're a strong communicator who can work across every level of the business and keep things moving without creating noise.
  • You know the operational essentials, or can pick them up fast: UK company basics, employment, finance operations, and working alongside external legal, finance, and HR partners.
  • You're a strong team player. We're a slim team that gets a lot done, which means everyone pulls their weight and how someone fits matters. You'll be working closely with all of us, so we're looking for someone collaborative, easy to work with, and genuinely invested in what we're building.
