Head of Operations - High-Growth Start-Up

£70,000 - £80,000 + 15% bonus + potential equity

Zachary Daniels is delighted to be partnering with an ambitious, fast-growing start-up to appoint a Head of Operations at a pivotal stage of its growth.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an energetic, commercially minded and ambitious operator who wants genuine responsibility and the chance to help build something.

This isn't a corporate operations role. It's a hands-on opportunity to join a business with real ambition, working closely with the founder and leadership team to build the infrastructure, systems and processes needed for the next phase of growth.

The Role

As Head of Operations, you'll take ownership of the operational engine of the business, ensuring it can scale quickly, efficiently and profitably.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading day-to-day operations and creating structure, accountability and pace.
  • Building scalable systems and processes as the business grows.
  • Managing suppliers, purchasing, logistics and external partners.
  • Improving stock planning, forecasting and operational efficiency.
  • Overseeing customer and service operations.
  • Creating useful reporting and commercial visibility.
  • Monitoring costs, margins and operational performance.
  • Identifying problems and implementing practical solutions.
  • Introducing automation, technology and AI where they can genuinely improve the business.
  • Managing and developing the operational team as the business grows.
  • Working closely with the founder to reduce operational firefighting and build a scalable operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a hands-on role. You'll need to be comfortable moving between strategic thinking and getting stuck into the detail.

One day you could be reviewing performance and building a new process; the next, solving a supplier issue or removing a bottleneck.

You'll be expected to make things happen.

About You

We're looking for someone with energy, ambition and a genuine appetite to make an impact.

You could be an Operations Manager ready to step into your first Head of Operations role, or an experienced Head of Operations from a smaller business.

Experience within a start-up, scale-up, e-commerce, FMCG, consumer, retail or another fast-moving environment would be highly beneficial.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who:

  • Takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do.
  • Is commercially sharp and comfortable with numbers.
  • Is highly organised and naturally creates structure.
  • Enjoys solving problems and improving how things work.
  • Is hands-on and happy working in the detail.
  • Can think strategically but is equally strong on execution.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Is confident challenging the status quo.
  • Is ambitious about their own career and wants to grow with the business.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a business early enough to make your mark.

You'll have significant autonomy, direct exposure to the founder, the opportunity to build systems from the ground up and the potential to develop the operational function as the company grows.

You'll see the impact of your work quickly and your own opportunity will grow alongside the business.

If you're looking for a role where everything is already established, this probably isn't for you.

If you're looking for a career-defining opportunity where you can build, influence and grow, we'd love to hear from you.

Package

Up to £80,000 basic salary + 15% annual performance bonus

Potential long-term incentive/equity opportunity after one year, subject to performance and company approval.
