Head of Operations – Automotive Logistics
📍 Birmingham | Hybrid
💰 Up to £85,000 + 30% Bonus + Car/Allowance
Peak Talent Partners is supporting a leading logistics business with the appointment of a Head of Operations.
This is a significant leadership role within a high-volume, people-led operation, responsible for delivering service performance, developing leadership capability and driving continuous improvement across a fast-paced complex national operation.
The Role
You will take ownership of operational performance across your area, with particular focus on service delivery, contractual SLAs and people KPIs.
A major part of the role will be developing capability within the team. You will coach and support managers, create clear career pathways, strengthen succession planning and build a strong pipeline of future talent.
You will also be expected to challenge the status quo, identify root causes behind performance issues and lead system and process improvements.

We are looking for someone who can:
- Lead and develop large, complex operational teams
- Combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery
- Coach and develop senior managers
- Drive continuous improvement and performance
- Use data and insight to identify problems and opportunities
- Make confident decisions in a high-pressure environment
- Lead teams through change and ambiguity
- Challenge existing ways of working constructively
- Build strong cross-functional relationships
- Listen to operational experts and understand the detail before implementing change
- Demonstrate resilience, empathy, determination and strong people leadership

Experience within logistics, transport, automotive logistics or another high-volume service environment would be particularly relevant.
This opportunity also offers genuine longer-term progression for someone with the potential and ambition to move into broader operational leadership.
Location & Package
📍 Birmingham, with occasional travel
🏠 Hybrid working – min. three days per week in the office
💰 Salary up to £85,000
🎯 30% annual bonus
🚗 Company car or £7,000 cash allowance
💷 6% matched pension
