Head of Operations for eCom DTC Brand
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Operations for an eCom DTC brand based in the United Kingdom.
This is a high-impact operations leadership role within a fast-growing, 8-figure direct-to-consumer business.
You will take ownership of the operating infrastructure that supports supply chain, inventory, fulfillment, systems, reporting, hiring, and execution.
The role is designed for a hands-on builder who can turn operational complexity into clear processes, accountable ownership, and measurable performance.
- Identify gaps, build SOPs, establish systems, recruit functional leaders, and create the structure needed for sustainable scale.
- Transition day-to-day operational responsibility away from the Founder and toward a capable team of independent functional owners.
- Work across distributed teams, vendors, agencies, manufacturers, and operational partners in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
Success means building an organization that runs efficiently, solves problems proactively, and no longer depends on you for daily execution.
Accountabilities
- Own end-to-end back-end operations, including supply chain, inventory planning, manufacturing relationships, 3PL and fulfillment, returns, vendor management, and agency coordination.
- Build and maintain scalable operating systems, processes, and SOPs, ensuring every recurring workflow has clear ownership, documentation, measurement, and accountability.
- Establish and maintain an operational knowledge base in Notion, continuously improving processes as the business grows and new needs emerge.
- Develop accurate inventory systems of record, purchase-order calendars, and processes that improve inventory visibility, planning, and stock availability.
- Build reliable reporting and a single source of truth for weekly leadership metrics, including inventory, stockouts, cost per order, channel and subscription revenue, vendor performance, and other operational KPIs.
- Create automated subscription and channel revenue reporting and develop a concise weekly operations scorecard for leadership decision-making.
- Establish vendor and agency scorecards to monitor performance, identify issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify missing organizational functions, define roles and scorecards, lead recruitment, conduct screening, onboard new hires, and develop functional owners.
- Build a team of 4–6 functional leaders who can independently own their respective areas and operate without daily intervention.
- Create repeatable hiring pipelines, work-sample assessments, onboarding systems, and accountability mechanisms.
- Translate decisions into clear written specifications with defined owners, deadlines, and completion criteria, then follow through until execution is complete.
- Diagnose operational issues by tracing performance changes back to their underlying causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Continuously identify and resolve operational problems before they escalate into Founder-level issues.
- Build the infrastructure and organizational capability required to ultimately transition into broader COO-level responsibilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment while balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution.
