Role Description
The Head of Operations will oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring efficient processes, service delivery, and performance across logistics and fulfilment operations. This full-time, on-site role based in Northampton includes managing cross-functional teams, aligning operations with commercial objectives, and implementing best practices to improve productivity and quality. The role involves developing and monitoring operational KPIs, managing budgets and resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support growth and client satisfaction. The Head of Operations will collaborate with senior leadership, clients, and partners to ensure strategic alignment, operational resilience, and effective use of capacity. Responsibilities also include risk management, compliance with relevant standards, and mentoring team members to build strong operational capabilities.

- Strong Operations Management skills, including process optimization, KPI management, and continuous improvement capabilities.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, support decision-making, and drive performance improvements.
- Effective Team Management skills, including leadership, coaching, delegation, and performance development.
- Clear and confident Communication skills to engage stakeholders, present plans, and build collaborative relationships.
- Budgeting skills, including cost control, resource planning, and financial accountability.
- Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, 3PL operations, or e-fulfilment environments is highly beneficial.
- A track record in senior operational leadership roles, preferably within fast-paced, growth-focused organizations.
- Professional qualifications in operations, supply chain, business management, or a related field; a university degree or equivalent experience is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, resilience under pressure, and comfort with change and scaling operations.
- Proficiency with operational and reporting tools, and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an asset.
