Head of Operations
Morson Edge are representing a leading Lender in identifying a experienced and strategic Head of Operations to lead multiple operational, governance, and control functions within a regulated financial services environment. This senior leadership role will be responsible for delivering operational excellence, ensuring robust risk management and controls, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, enhancing customer outcomes, and supporting sustainable business growth.
This would be a permanent role based in the South East with 4 days in the office weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across operational and control functions.
- Contribute to the development and execution of long-term business strategy.
- Oversee day-to-day operational performance and service delivery.
- Drive improvements in efficiency, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
- Establish scalable processes and operating models that support business growth.
- Maintain a strong operational risk and control framework.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee audit and review activities, ensuring effective remediation where required.
- Build effective relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Manage third-party supplier and partner relationships to ensure agreed standards are achieved.
- Lead operational change and business improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and technology adoption.
- Manage budgets, resource planning, and operational capacity.
- Balance performance, efficiency, and customer outcomes in support of wider business objectives.

Essential
- Significant leadership experience within a regulated financial services environment.
- Proven ability to lead large operational teams and deliver strong business outcomes.
- Experience managing pre-completions in a specialist mortgages, buy to let or bridging
- Strong understanding of operational risk, governance, controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience driving business transformation, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and third-party providers.
Desirable
- Experience working within lending, banking, mortgage, or broader financial services operations.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and customer outcome requirements.
- Experience managing audits, regulatory reviews, and assurance activities.
- Exposure to technology-enabled transformation and automation programmes.
