Head of Operations - Manufacturing

West Midlands | Executive Salary + Bonus + Benefits

Loom Talent are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Head of Operations - Manufacturing for a key leadership role in the West Midlands.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll lead a large-scale manufacturing operation, taking ownership of safety, production, quality, cost, and continuous improvement while developing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.

The Role

As Head of Operations - Manufacturing, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operation across a 24/7 production environment.
  • Drive improvements in safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and coach operational leaders, creating a high-performance culture.
  • Manage operational budgets and deliver cost improvements without compromising quality or safety.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, and Finance to optimise operational performance.
  • Support capital investment and operational improvement projects.
  • Use data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

About You

You'll be an experienced manufacturing leader with a proven track record of delivering operational excellence within a fast-paced production environment. You'll have:

  • Significant senior leadership experience within manufacturing, with responsibility for operational performance, budgets, and people.
  • A strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, with a proven ability to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with a degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
