Senior Head of Operations Opportunity
I’m currently working on a senior Head of Operations opportunity with a specialist Financial Services business in North Hampshire.
About the Role
This is a genuinely broad operational leadership role within a mortgage and specialist lending environment, with a particular focus on Buy-to-Let.
The successful candidate will have oversight across the operational journey, including:
- Pre-underwriting / pre-completion
- Underwriting operations
- Completions
- Mortgage servicing
- Asset management / collections
- Accounts
- Collections & recoveries
- Operational controls and governance
This is a role for an experienced operational leader who can look across the whole customer and lending journey, identify where things can work better and then actually make the changes happen.

- Leading and developing operational teams
- Driving operational performance, service quality and customer outcomes
- Improving processes, controls and operational efficiency
- Leading transformation, automation and continuous improvement
- Owning operational risk, governance and regulatory controls
- Managing third-party suppliers and strategic partners
- Using MI and performance data to identify risks and opportunities
- Managing resource planning, capacity and budgets
- Acting as a senior escalation point across operational and customer matters
- Influencing senior leadership and executive stakeholders
Requirements
What I’m looking for - The key piece is mortgage / lending operations experience.
- Specialist mortgage lending

- Residential or commercial lending

- Regulated Financial Services

You’ll also need strong experience around operational risk, governance, controls, regulatory compliance, change and transformation.
I'm particularly interested in people who have progressed beyond simply running an operation and can demonstrate that they've built, improved, transformed and strategically led one.
This is a senior appointment and I'm looking for a genuinely high-calibre operational leader with the mortgage/lending experience to make an immediate impact.
