What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead day-to-day operations across multiple sites, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable service delivery.
  • Take joint ownership of operational P&L, driving productivity, profitability and cost performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop operational leadership teams, creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Deliver operational KPIs through effective workforce planning, resource management and performance improvement.
  • Champion Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
  • Lead the implementation of automation and transformation projects that improve productivity and support future growth.
  • Partner with commercial teams to support new business opportunities, customer retention and profitable contract delivery.
  • Oversee operational readiness for new customer programmes, ensuring successful implementation and ongoing service excellence.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, Engineering and Security to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while driving operational governance, reporting and performance management.
  • Identify and embed best practice across the operation to improve customer satisfaction, quality and financial performance.

Main Skills Needed

  • Significant leadership experience within large-scale operational, logistics or supply chain environments.
  • Proven responsibility for P&L management, operational budgets and commercial performance.
  • Strong background leading multi-site operations and developing high-performing leadership teams.
  • Experience driving Lean, continuous improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Track record of implementing automation or technology-led operational improvements.
  • Strong understanding of operational KPIs, productivity metrics and performance management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working alongside commercial, finance and customer-facing teams.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to balance operational performance, customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people development capabilities.
  • Experience within technology services, reverse logistics, 3PL or similar operational environments would be highly advantageous.
