About B Kitchen

B Kitchen began as Burrito Kitchen and still runs 4 burrito stores, but the business pivoted after covid. We launched our own B Kitchen hot counters within Tesco stores and have grown to 50 sites. Our hot counter range includes: sausage rolls, chicken burgers, slices, breakfast baps, etc. Alongside those in certain stores we run 7 build your own salad bars and freshly squeezed orange juice machines.

We run a hub and spoke model which has enabled us to grow to 50 sites, and we are only getting started.

16 of our sites are Hub's that have kitchens and cook, produce and sell food from our hot counters. The other 34 are Spokes so no kitchen and our riders just deliver to these Tesco stores and display the food on our self-service hot counter, these stores are restocked five times a day.

We are operating in London and Manchester and are about to roll the concept out across the UK.

The role

As Head of Operations you would join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal part in taking the business from 50 sites to several hundred. You will own trading performance and standards across the whole estate, and lead the multi-site managers who run it day to day.

We are looking for someone who brings their experience and uses it to help us innovate: better formats, better systems and better ways of running sites, built as we grow rather than bolted on afterwards.

Key responsibilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Lead the multi-site managers. Line manage, coach and hold to account the multi-site managers covering each region. Set clear targets, run a consistent review rhythm, and build the bench of managers we need as the estate grows.
  • Own estate-wide performance. Sales, labour, food cost, waste and customer scores across every site. Spot the sites that are drifting early and get in there to fix them.
  • Deliver the growth plan. Work with our Head of Growth and the openings team to get new sites trading well from day one: recruitment, training, equipment, stock and the first weeks of trade. Keep standards consistent as the estate grows.
  • Run the hub and spoke model well. Make sure hub kitchens produce to forecast and to spec, that rider delivery runs to time, and that spoke sites get what they need when they need it. Keep food quality and safety consistent across both ends of the model.
  • Be the operational face of the Tesco partnership at site level. Build strong working relationships with Tesco store teams and head office to resolve issues quickly, and protect our reputation as a partner they want more of.
  • Improve how we operate. Bring what has worked elsewhere and challenge what we do today. Build the systems, standards and ways of working that will hold up at several hundred sites, not just 50.
  • Get stuck in. Train teams, work shifts and be visible in stores. Training for this role includes at least a month working operationally in store so you learn how the business really runs. We expect the Head of Operations to be able to do any job in the building.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Senior multi-site operations experience in quick service restaurants, fast casual or food to go
  • A track record of scaling an estate through rapid expansion, including opening new sites and new regions
  • Experience managing managers, not just sites: building, coaching and holding a management layer to account
  • Strong commercial grip on P&L, labour models, food cost and waste
  • Genuinely happy to get stuck in
  • Flexibility to travel and stay away overnight as we open across the UK

Desirable

  • Experience of a hub and spoke, central production or dark kitchen model
  • Experience operating concessions inside a host retailer or other partnership estate
  • Experience opening sites in new cities or regions from scratch
  • Level 3 or 4 food safety qualification

Location and travel

You will be based across London and Manchester and on the road regularly, in sites supporting the multi-site managers who run them. Expect significant UK travel and overnight stays, particularly around new openings. This role requires a lot of time inside our stores; at other times we work out of a shared office space in Piccadilly Circus.
