Head of Operations

Location: Carlisle

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30-17:00

Excellent Package + Autonomy + Member of SLT

About the Role

This is a key leadership position, responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams and ensuring the business is ready for future growth. You will play a central role in strengthening existing operations, addressing legacy challenges and building a resilient, adaptable manufacturing function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive performance improvement through data, root cause analysis and effective KPI management.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across production and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop a culture of accountability, collaboration, engagement and continuous development.
  • Address operational and legacy challenges while preparing the business for future growth.
  • Empower teams through effective delegation, ensuring the right people have ownership and accountability.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to improve capability, efficiency and overall site performance.

About You:

  • A strong understanding of production metrics, KPIs and performance improvement.
  • A track record of delivering operational change and modernising established or legacy operations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop, unite and inspire large, diverse teams.
  • A practical, visible leadership style with the ability to work closely with teams on the shop floor.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environments with demanding timelines.
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
