Employment: Full time, remote or hybrid, depending on location, with some travel required.

This role is open to candidates based in England and across Europe who are fluent in English and have the legal right to work in their country of residence. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Role Purpose

The Head of Organic Marketing (Content and SEO) will define and lead the global organic marketing strategy for hosting.com, bringing together SEO and content to increase search visibility, build market authority, attract qualified audiences, and deliver measurable commercial growth.

This role owns organic marketing performance and customer content across the full customer journey, from awareness and education through to product consideration, conversion, activation, product adoption, and retention. Its remit includes website content, the customer knowledge base, customer-facing product documentation, guides, courses, and educational content.

The role is accountable for ensuring that hosting.com is discoverable across traditional search engines, emerging AI-powered discovery channels, and other relevant organic platforms. It will also ensure customers can easily access accurate, useful, and consistent information that helps them understand, activate, and gain value from their products.

The role combines strategic leadership, deep SEO and content expertise, strong editorial judgement, commercial awareness, and an excellent understanding of digital customer behavior.

The Head of Organic Marketing will bring together SEO and content activity across markets, brands, products, and channels, establishing a clear global approach while allowing for appropriate local relevance.

Requirements

Own the global organic marketing strategy

  • Develop and deliver a global organic marketing strategy aligned with company growth priorities, brand positioning, product strategy, and customer needs
  • Establish an integrated approach across technical SEO, on-page SEO, authority building, content strategy, customer education, and organic conversion
  • Translate commercial priorities into clear organic growth opportunities, content themes, campaigns, optimization plans, and measurable outcomes
  • Define the role of organic marketing across awareness, customer acquisition, product education, conversion, activation, product adoption, retention, and customer advocacy
  • Establish clear audience segments, search journeys, customer needs, and messaging priorities
  • Create an effective balance between global consistency and local market relevance
  • Prioritize activity based on commercial opportunity, customer value, required effort, and expected return

Lead SEO strategy and performance

  • Own the global SEO strategy and organic search performance across hosting.com websites, products, and priority markets
  • Establish clear priorities across technical SEO, keyword and topic strategy, on-page optimization, internal linking, authority building, and organic conversion
  • Use search data, customer behavior, competitor insight, and market trends to identify opportunities to increase qualified organic traffic and commercial performance
  • Partner with Website, Technology, and Product teams to identify and resolve technical issues affecting crawlability, indexation, site structure, speed, customer experience, and search performance
  • Define SEO requirements for website development, migrations, product launches, and other significant digital changes
  • Ensure organic search considerations are embedded at the appropriate stage of website, product, and campaign planning
  • Develop a clear approach to authority building, including relevant partnerships, digital public relations, expert contributions, and credible external coverage
  • Monitor changes in search algorithms, customer search behavior, and AI-powered discovery, adapting the strategy accordingly
  • Protect organic performance during website changes, brand consolidation, acquisitions, and migrations

Build hosting.com as a trusted authority

  • Develop distinctive, useful, and credible content that strengthens hosting.com's position as a trusted expert in hosting, domains, websites, security, and online growth
  • Build an editorial approach that makes technical subjects accessible, practical, and relevant to customers
  • Identify opportunities for original research, expert commentary, customer insight, thought leadership, and industry analysis
  • Ensure content demonstrates genuine expertise and answers customer needs, rather than being created solely to target search volume
  • Partner with internal experts to turn technical knowledge into compelling and authoritative customer content
  • Strengthen the expertise, credibility, and trust signals associated with hosting.com and its contributors
  • Ensure content is structured and presented effectively for traditional search, AI-powered discovery, and customer usability

Own content strategy and performance

  • Own the global content strategy, editorial direction, and performance framework
  • Translate customer needs, search demand, and commercial priorities into clear content plans and production roadmaps
  • Ensure consistent and effective content across websites, landing pages, product pages, campaigns, guides, email journeys, and other relevant channels
  • Lead the creation of content that supports relevant product discovery and conversion without compromising quality or customer trust
  • Improve the quality and performance of existing content through structured review, consolidation, optimization, repurposing, and removal where appropriate
  • Identify gaps across the customer journey where unclear, missing, or ineffective content creates friction
  • Ensure messaging remains consistent across acquisition, product, support, and customer communications

Own the knowledge base, customer documentation, and education content

  • Own the strategy, quality, and effectiveness of the customer knowledge base, customer-facing product documentation, courses, tutorials, guides, and educational content
  • Establish a coherent approach to customer education, ensuring customers can easily find the information they need throughout consideration, onboarding, activation, and ongoing product use
  • Work with Product, Customer, Support, and technical subject experts to create and maintain accurate, accessible, and useful product documentation
  • Ensure the customer knowledge base is clearly structured, searchable, current, and aligned with customer needs, product changes, and recurring support enquiries
  • Develop courses, learning pathways, tutorials, and educational resources that help customers build confidence, use their products successfully, and achieve value more quickly
  • Identify where unclear, missing, or ineffective documentation creates friction, contributes to avoidable support demand, or prevents successful product adoption
  • Use search data, customer feedback, support insight, and product usage information to prioritize new content and improve existing resources
  • Establish clear ownership, review cycles, and quality standards for knowledge base articles, documentation, courses, and educational content
  • Ensure customer guidance remains consistent across the website, products, knowledge base, courses, and support communications
  • Measure the effectiveness of customer education content through relevant indicators, including usage, search success, customer feedback, activation, product adoption, support demand, and retention

Deliver measurable organic growth

  • Establish clear objectives and performance measures for SEO, content, and wider organic marketing activity
  • Own performance against agreed measures, including search visibility, qualified organic traffic, rankings, engagement, assisted conversion, activation, and revenue contribution
  • Connect organic marketing investment and activity to measurable customer and commercial outcomes
  • Build reporting that clearly explains performance, opportunities, risks, and recommended actions
  • Use testing and experimentation to improve organic journeys, content effectiveness, and conversion
  • Identify underperforming activity and redirect resources towards opportunities with stronger customer and commercial value
  • Communicate organic marketing performance clearly to senior stakeholders, including the factors influencing results and the actions required

Establish organic marketing standards and governance

  • Set global standards covering SEO, editorial quality, tone of voice, accessibility, accuracy, brand alignment, and customer relevance
  • Build clear planning, briefing, optimization, review, approval, publishing, and measurement processes
  • Establish ownership and governance across global teams, local markets, and external partners
  • Define how SEO and content requirements should be incorporated into website, campaign, product, and market planning
  • Create standards for the responsible use of AI in research, content production, optimization, and quality assurance
  • Protect quality and credibility by ensuring appropriate human judgment, subject expertise, and fact-checking remain central to the process
  • Ensure organic marketing activity follows relevant legal, regulatory, privacy, and intellectual property requirements

Lead and develop the organic marketing capability

  • Lead, develop, and inspire SEO specialists, content specialists, editors, writers, and external partners
  • Assess current capability, structure, and ways of working, then recommend improvements aligned with the strategy
  • Clarify responsibilities and establish an effective operating model across Organic Marketing, Website, Brand, Product, Growth, Customer, Support, and regional marketing teams
  • Build a culture of technical excellence, strong editorial judgment, customer focus, commercial accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Develop internal expertise while using agencies and freelance support where this provides clear value
  • Set clear expectations, provide effective feedback, and support the professional development of the team

Experience And Knowledge

  • Significant experience leading organic marketing, SEO, and content strategy within a digital, technology, software, e-commerce, or subscription business
  • Evidence of building or leading an integrated SEO and content function that has delivered measurable commercial growth
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, authority building, search intent, content strategy, and organic conversion
  • Experience using analytics, search intelligence, and performance data to make investment and prioritization decisions
  • Experience managing organic performance across multiple products, markets, audiences, or brands
  • Experience overseeing customer knowledge bases, customer-facing product documentation, courses, or digital education content
  • Experience working with Product, Customer, and Support teams to translate technical knowledge into clear and accessible customer guidance
  • Understanding of how customer education and documentation can improve activation, product adoption, customer satisfaction, retention, and support efficiency
  • Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to simplify complex or technical subjects without losing accuracy
  • Experience working with Website, Technology, and Product teams to resolve technical SEO issues and embed organic requirements
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including distributed and remote contributors
  • Experience establishing governance, workflows, standards, and performance measures
  • Practical understanding of how AI is changing content creation, search behavior, and customer discovery
  • Experience managing website migrations, brand consolidation, or significant changes affecting organic performance would be beneficial
  • Experience within hosting, domains, website technology, cloud services, or a related sector would be highly beneficial but is not essential
