Role Overview

Responsible for the management and leadership of clinical services, you will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care, with a strong focus on patient and carer experience and outcomes.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team within the clinical directorate, you will provide strategic and operational leadership of all outpatient services and community engagement programmes.

The role requires strong partnership working across acute, community and system-wide services, supporting integrated care delivery. A key aspect of the role will involve facilitating quality improvement initiatives, including pathway redesign to ensure services are responsive to patient, carer and system needs.

Role Details

  • Salary: £57,472.54 - £64,687.65
  • Working pattern: Full time 37.5 hours a week
  • Contract: Permanent

This cross-county role will be based in our Taunton and Yeovil Hospice sites and be required to travel across the County as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Working as part of our senior leadership team, your day-to-day role will include:

  • Working with the Associate Clinical Director (Outpatients and Therapies) to contribute to partnership working and achievement of strategic aims.
  • Overseeing the operational delivery, quality, and governance of outpatient/therapy services, ensuring robust clinical standards and continuous improvement.
  • Leading on engagement with people and services from minority, marginalised, or harder-to-reach groups, addressing barriers to end-of-life care.
  • Developing and implementing programmes to widen hospice access for patients with non-malignant conditions and create pathways with external providers for appropriate referrals.
  • Participating in the Senior Clinical on-call rota.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified and registered clinician in a relevant health or social care profession.
  • Current professional registration/accreditation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work across sites, managing competing priorities.
  • Acts flexibly, collaboratively and independently to ensure the service meets its delivery objectives.
  • Responsible and accountable at a senior level.
  • Applies leadership and operational management knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of patient and public engagement.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external people, organisations at a local and regional level.
  • Manages programmes of organisational change and quality improvements.
  • Able to travel across Somerset, including rural communities.
