The Company
A rapidly growing HealthTech business is transforming how care is delivered, using technology, AI and data to help people live healthier lives in their own homes. The business has built one of Europe's largest home healthcare datasets, combining extensive social care and clinical data with advanced technology and AI capabilities; having already developed and commercialised technology across the NHS and wider care sector, the organisation is now looking to build a significant new Research Partnerships proposition, creating commercial partnerships across Pharma, Life Sciences, Healthcare and Data.
The Role
As Head of Partnerships, you will lead the development of strategic partnerships across the health data and research ecosystem. This is not a traditional BD role; the successful candidate will combine data, operational research, commercial partnerships and execution, helping to turn a unique healthcare data asset into commercially valuable research programmes and partnerships.
You will:
- Build and lead the organisation's research partnerships network.
- Develop relationships with pharmaceutical companies, CROs, NHS organisations, healthcare providers and wider research partners.
- Identify opportunities to use real-world healthcare data within clinical trials and research programmes.
- Help pharmaceutical and research organisations understand the data and capabilities available.
- Identify opportunities to commercialise health data propositions within Life Sciences.
- Develop new commercial partnerships and research opportunities.
- Work with partners to design and operationalise research programmes.
- Conduct roadshows and build the organisation's external network across Pharma, Healthcare and Life Sciences.
- Translate complex data and research capabilities into compelling commercial propositions.
- Take opportunities beyond the initial commercial conversation and support their operational execution.
- Lead negotiations and ongoing partnership management.
- Work closely with Data, Product, Clinical Research and Operations teams.
- Line-manage and develop the existing Research Partnerships team.
- Help shape the strategy, proposition and operating model for this new commercial vertical.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Team:
You will lead a small specialist Research Partnerships team, currently consisting of:
- Clinical Research Programme Manager – focused on research programme and partnership activity.
- Research Manager – supporting the development and delivery of research opportunities.
You will be responsible for developing this team as the Research Partnerships function grows.

The opportunity is to use this real-world data to help pharmaceutical and research organisations answer questions that traditional clinical datasets may not be able to answer, supporting areas such as clinical trial recruitment and evidence collection. You will have significant ownership over developing this proposition, building the external market and turning early opportunities into scalable commercial partnerships.

- Experience taking partnerships from initial proposition through to operational delivery.
- Experience managing and developing small, specialist teams.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build a new proposition or vertical from scratch.
