UP Projects is the UK’s leading public art organization, specializing in socially engaged public art commissioning. The team works with world-class artists to create new work in public spaces, collaborating closely with communities across the UK and internationally. Projects are responsive to place and context, often activating unexpected and overlooked areas of the public realm. UP Projects initiates work that addresses pressing social issues and partners with organizations on a consultancy basis to deliver ambitious, risk-taking projects that communities can help shape, participate in, and connect with.
Role Description
The Head of Partnerships & Consultancy will lead the development, management, and growth of strategic partnerships and consultancy projects for UP Projects. This part-time, hybrid role is based in Greater London, with a mix of on-site meetings and remote working.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Identifying and nurturing new partnership opportunities
- Managing existing partner relationships
- Overseeing consultancy briefs from concept through delivery

The role will involve growing UP Projects' consultancy, securing new business income targets, negotiating agreements, setting partnership objectives, tracking performance, and ensuring projects align with UP Projects’ mission and values.
The Head of Partnerships & Consultancy will collaborate with the wider team on income generation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting, while representing the organization at sector events and partner meetings.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage and grow business relationships, with strong skills in Business Relationship Management and Partnerships.
- Experience in developing and maintaining Strategic Partnerships, including identifying opportunities and structuring long-term collaborations.
- Strong Analytical Skills to assess partnership performance, interpret data, and inform strategy and decision-making.
- Excellent Communication skills, including confident presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement, both written and verbal.
- Experience in arts, culture, or socially engaged practice, with a good understanding of public art and community-focused projects.
- Proven track record in income generation, fundraising, or business development, ideally within the cultural or non-profit sector.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
