This role requires a strong leadership approach that embodies and promotes Thermo King UK’s core values, while driving continuous improvement across the end-to-end supply chain and supporting revenue growth opportunities within the service business.

What You Will Bring

Parts Strategy and Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement a national parts and logistics strategy to ensure optimal stock levels, operational efficiency, high customer service standards, and commercial growth across all business streams.
  • Lead the end-to-end parts supply chain, from procurement through to warehousing, distribution, and final delivery to service centres and customers.
  • Ensure parts operations are aligned with wider business priorities, service demand, OTC sales opportunities, and equipment upgrade growth plans.
  • Create a scalable operating model that supports future growth, operational resilience, customer satisfaction, and increased sales conversion.

Service Centre and Field Support

  • Provide ongoing support to service centres with local inventory management, including parts ordering, van stock optimisation, and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure field-based engineers and service teams have the right parts availability to improve uptime, reduce delays, and support first-time fix performance.
  • Partner with operational teams to resolve supply challenges quickly and minimise customer disruption.

Procurement and Supplier Management

  • Manage centralised factory orders and coordinate direct distribution to service centres.
  • Specify and procure parts to maximise cost efficiency, availability, and service performance.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that deliver long-term value, service excellence, and supply continuity.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, including service levels, lead times, quality issues, pricing, and contract compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance through strategic sourcing, supplier rationalisation, and better demand planning.

Logistics and Distribution Leadership

  • Lead warehouse, transport, and distribution activity to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of parts across the network.
  • Develop logistics strategies that improve service levels, reduce lead times, and optimise distribution cost.
  • Oversee third-party logistics providers and transport partners, ensuring strong service delivery and contractual performance.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are safe, compliant, well organised, and capable of supporting current and future business demand.
  • Drive continuous improvement in order fulfilment, picking accuracy, delivery performance, and reverse logistics processes.
  • Establish robust contingency plans for supply chain disruption, transport issues, and critical stock shortages.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
