Are you a visionary educational leader passionate about inclusive, research-informed teaching and learning?
The University of Salford is seeking an exceptional Head of Pedagogy to shape the future of learning and teaching across our institution. This is a unique opportunity to lead strategic initiatives that enhance student success, drive inclusive educational practice, and position Salford as a sector leader in pedagogic innovation and evidence-based enhancement.
Working within Salford Academy of Education, you will provide institutional leadership for pedagogic development, working closely with senior academic leaders, schools, and professional services to embed outstanding, research-informed approaches to teaching, assessment, curriculum design, and student success.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A PhD or equivalent in an education-related discipline and a recognised higher education teaching qualification or fellowship.
- Significant experience leading large-scale educational enhancement and change projects within higher education.
- High-level quantitative data analysis skill-sets to include expertise with SPSS, structural equation modelling, and meta-analysis together with a strong track record in pedagogic research, scholarship, and securing external funding.
- Expertise in inclusive education, assessment and feedback, student success, and belonging.
- The ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, driving cultural and organizational change.

About the Department
At the University of Salford, the Academy of Education works with colleagues across the University to advance a research-informed approach to pedagogy. The Academy team have a proven track record of excellence in learning, teaching, and assessment, providing a focal point to disseminate and embed best practice, engaging with teaching and professional services staff throughout the institution.
