We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of People based near Milton Keynes to join one of our clients on a permanent full-time basis. This is a 100% office-based role and due to the location own transport is required.

Summary of the Head of People role

  • Salary: Competitive
  • Location: Milton Keynes
  • Type of Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 35 hours Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Responsibilities of the Head of People

  • Lead and support a small HR team.
  • Work directly with key leaders and heads of business.
  • Attend quarterly board meetings.
  • Update and advise senior management and department heads on employment legislation, restructuring and training.
  • Develop HR policies and procedures, keeping up to date with legislative changes.
  • Manage employee benefits and the pension scheme.
  • Develop training budgets and support managers with PDP's.
  • Manage the recruitment process including, writing job specifications, liaising with agencies & third parties, writing employment contracts and discipline and grievances.
  • Responsible for managing and upholding GDPR policies and procedures including the destruction of confidential waste.

Requirements for a successful Head of People

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified.
  • Substantial HR Management experience at a senior level and within the commercial sector and working at board level.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a small HR team.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and trustees.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A DBS check will be required for this role.
  • Full driving licence due to location.
