Head of People and Culture

Erdington, Birmingham

£56,500.00 plus £3500 car allowance per annum

37.5 hours per week

About The Role

The purpose of the role is to provide inspirational leadership to the People and Culture (P&C) team, ensuring the delivery of a truly innovative and exceptional service that improves employee experience at every level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide strategic leadership across the Group on all people related issues
  • Play an active role in the Senior Management Team, driving behavioural change and aligning SMT plans with the Group’s strategic goals
  • Develop and deliver the People & Culture Strategy, monitoring and reporting progress to the appropriate bodies.
  • Take overall responsibility for the delivery plans and budgets of allocated areas.
  • Regularly review the KPI reporting for P&C to board and committee
  • Be an organisational champion for the benefits of EDI, working to integrate into all areas of the Group’s activities
  • Champion the development and implementation of people analytics, ensuring that accurate data is available across the group relative to the People and Culture service
  • Design, implement and embed a performance management culture. Providing the tools and guidance to enable managers to define colleague and team goals that support Group objectives
  • Ensure that appropriate talent pipelines are built and maintained for key roles across the group in line with succession plans
  • Ensure effective partnering with hiring managers to define talent needs and recruitment strategies
  • Champion a high performance, collaborative culture, providing systems, tools and guidance to support its application

You will have:

Knowledge And Skills

  • A relevant qualification (i.e. CIPD level 7, Masters in HR Mgt or People & Organisational Development etc) or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of current employment and related legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of People and Culture best practice
  • Awareness of developments within People, Culture, OD, L&D and the wider social housing and care sectors
  • Ambitious leader with a talent for attracting, developing and retaining highly motivated, high performing people with a passion for outstanding service
  • Great motivator of people with the ability to influence effectively
  • Creative problem solver, using innovative approaches to overcome challenge
  • Emotionally intelligent with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce
  • Analytical with a flair for data presentation and storytelling to influence and inform decision making
  • Adept at coaching and mentoring managers and colleagues to recognise and deliver to their true potential
  • Conflict identification and resolution with excellent mediation skills
  • First class presentation, speaking and facilitation skills with the ability to engage with large and diverse audiences, explaining complex subjects in an understandable and easy to absorb way
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to adapt your style suitably based on the situation
