Head of People - ER, Recruitment, Payroll - FinTech

An excellent opportunity opens for a Head of People to join a fast-paced, scaling FinTech. This role offers the opportunity to take hands-on ownership of the full breadth of HR - from recruitment through to offboarding, and everything in between. You will build and run an agile people function that can flex as fast as the business does, balancing consistency with the flexibility a scaling fintech needs. Reporting to the COO, you will lead a small, focused team and act as the day-to-day owner of the firm's people systems, policies and culture, with plenty of scope to shape how the function grows as the company scales across the UK as well as the US (and globally).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and develop the People team
  • Own end-to-end HR delivery across recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, compensation and engagement.
  • Oversee payroll processes end-to-end, working with relevant partners and finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure HR practices are compliant and well run across both our UK and US operations.
  • Champion employee engagement, driving initiatives that support a strong, inclusive culture as the company scales.
  • Design and evolve agile, pragmatic HR policies and processes that keep pace with the business as it scales, balancing the need for consistency with the flexibility to adapt quickly.
  • Act as the senior owner of our HRIS, ensuring it's configured, adopted and continuously improved to support the wider team.
  • Partner closely with the COO and senior leadership on organisational design, workforce planning and compensation strategy as we grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
