Role Description

The Head of People is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for leading BrewDog’s people strategy and HR operations across the retail business. This role oversees the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, development, performance management, and succession planning.

The Head of People designs and implements HR policies, ensures compliance with labor and employment law, and drives initiatives that support engagement, inclusion, and a positive workplace culture. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Head of People also leads HR projects such as workforce planning, compensation reviews, and training programs that support both crew member growth and company performance.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including leading HR teams and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Labor and Employment Law and experience applying these requirements in a practical, business-focused way.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain HR Policies that support consistency, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, performance issues, and supporting managers with complex cases.
  • Experience in a multi-site or hospitality, retail, or consumer-facing environment is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including use of HR data and metrics to inform decisions.
  • Track record of driving culture, engagement, inclusion, and change management initiatives.
  • Relevant degree or professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) preferred.
