About the Role
Our client is one of the world’s leading luxury travel brands.
They're seeking an experienced Head of HR (Maternity Cover) to lead the People function during a period of maternity leave. Reporting into the VP of HR, this individual will lead the People/HR function from an operational perspective, including overall responsibility for managing and developing the People/HR team.

They will provide line management to the UK HR team and serve as a key point of escalation for both the HR team and business leaders. The role will oversee all aspects of people operations, including recruitment, talent development, employee relations, compliance, culture, engagement and wellbeing.
In addition to strong HR expertise, they're looking for someone with commercial acumen who understands financial principles, risk and reward and how to leverage technology, HR systems and data to drive business outcomes. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
