Head of People & Talent

£40,000–£45,000 + performance-related bonus

Chiswick, West London | Full-time | Predominantly office/community based

Home Instead Hammersmith & Chiswick is looking for a commercially minded Head of People & Talent to lead recruitment, retention, workforce planning, and the wider People agenda across our established West London home care business.

We are CQC rated Outstanding overall and have ambitious plans for continued growth. Building and retaining the right workforce is central to those plans.

This is not a traditional policy-led HR role.

Recruitment and retention will be major initial priorities. We want someone who can strengthen an existing recruitment function, build sustainable local talent pipelines, improve onboarding and early retention, and use workforce data to help the business plan ahead.

You will inherit an existing in-house full-time recruiter and work closely with the Director and senior leadership team.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading recruitment and workforce planning across frontline care and wider business roles
  • Managing, coaching, and developing our existing recruiter
  • Building proactive sourcing channels beyond traditional job boards
  • Developing community partnerships, referrals, events, and local talent pipelines
  • Improving candidate conversion and candidate experience
  • Strengthening onboarding, induction, and early retention
  • Working with care, scheduling, and training teams to align recruitment with operational demand
  • Leading employer branding and recruitment marketing
  • Improving recruitment and workforce reporting
  • Tracking source effectiveness, conversion, cost per hire, event ROI, and retention
  • Supporting wider People priorities including engagement, performance, development, succession planning, and culture

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
