We are currently supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation in appointing a Head of Manufacturing to lead and develop its growing TIDES / large molecule manufacturing operations.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for defining the long-term manufacturing strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the organisation has the facilities, technology, people, and capabilities required to support continued growth.

The successful candidate will lead cGMP manufacturing operations from clinical phase through to commercial manufacture, while playing a major role in future manufacturing expansion and investment.

The role will include:

  • Leading and developing multiple cGMP manufacturing teams
  • Owning manufacturing strategy, performance, capacity and operational excellence
  • Driving improvements across safety, quality, efficiency, cost and profitability
  • Supporting the design, commissioning and scale-up of new manufacturing capacity
  • Developing manufacturing capability across peptides, oligonucleotides, proteins, biomolecules and other complex APIs
  • Providing leadership around purification / downstream processing and manufacturing technology
  • Building, mentoring and developing high-performing manufacturing teams
  • Driving Lean / Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring manufacturing operations remain compliant with cGMP and regulatory expectations

What we’re looking for

The key requirement is significant leadership experience within cGMP large molecule and/or TIDES manufacturing. We’re particularly interested in people with backgrounds across:

  • Peptides
  • Oligonucleotides
  • TIDES
  • Proteins
  • Biomolecules
  • Biologics
  • Large Molecule Manufacturing

You should have:

  • Extensive experience leading cGMP manufacturing operations
  • Strong experience within large molecule, peptide, oligonucleotide, protein or related manufacturing
  • Experience leading and developing manufacturing teams
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, process safety and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with manufacturing scale-up, capacity expansion or commissioning new manufacturing facilities/equipment
  • A track record of operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ideally, experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Degree-level qualification in Chemistry, Engineering, Physical Sciences or a related discipline

Location

This is a senior site-based leadership position located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. Given the scope of the role, candidates must be comfortable being based on site in Craigavon and travelling internationally when required. The package is highly competitive and includes base salary, annual bonus, car allowance, pension, private medical insurance and additional benefits.
