The Mission

SF Partners has spent the last three years moving up market, from a generalist recruitment business to a partnership-led firm working mid-to-senior appointments across Finance & Accountancy, Technology, Executive and Engineering. We've expanded from our Midlands offices into Manchester, London and Frankfurt, where we’re now in full scale mode. Over the next three years we want to grow the business by 50%.

The biggest lever we have for that growth is what our consultants do with their time. We've always been good at getting people to beat their personal best – 93% do so within two years at SF, and we're already top quartile for consultant productivity against the UK recruitment sector. What we haven't had is someone whose full-time job is turning that into a repeatable, business-wide engine rather than something that happens informally, manager by manager.

The Role

Head of Performance Excellence - a newly created role, reporting into the senior leadership team. Full-time or part-time considered.

You'll take consultant development from something individual managers do on the side to something structured, consistent and tied directly back to billings. You'll design and deliver it yourself, spot where people and teams are getting stuck before anyone asks you to, and work with management, the CRM team, managers and individual consultants to get it embedded. This suits someone who wants immediate impact in a fast-growing business, not a role to ease into gently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and delivering training programmes that move consultants to their next level of performance, no matter how successful they already are
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the business to a more premium market position, where we are valued partners to our clients beyond just filling a job
  • Spotting opportunities to develop individuals and teams, and acting on them without waiting to be asked
  • Working with the management team to understand blockers to scaling and implementing the solutions that help managers to grow their teams
  • Supporting our AI rollout, already underway, to continue building skills around the business, sharing best practice and encouraging ongoing experimentation
  • Making recommendations on where we can be more effective as a business in our processes and working with the business to implement these changes
  • Reporting on what's working, tying it back to consultant earnings and business productivity – the two metrics you are ultimately accountable for

What We're Looking For

  • You've worked in a medium to large, well-structured business and are genuinely comfortable reviewing, improving and rolling out process. You know the difference between process that helps and process that slows
  • You can make that process land as engaging and consultant-centric, not imposed from above and can flex your style according to your audience
  • You're AI-savvy, curious about the tools, quick to pick them up, and confident helping others do the same
  • You've got a coach's instinct and care about getting individuals to their personal best, no matter how much they have already achieved
  • You're comfortable at every level and are as at home with a consultant on the desk as with the management team
  • You enjoy travel – we have 4 UK offices and 1 in Germany and you will need to be visible and present to have an impact
