About Okam
Okam is building the search agency of the future. We're 18 months old, growing month on month, and we serve a market nobody has properly served before: businesses that need serious Google Ads expertise but have been priced out of it.
The agency model is broken. Margins are being squeezed, new business is hard, and most agencies are shrinking. We're seeing the opposite. We charge a flat monthly fee and deliver the kind of work you'd normally pay five times as much for.
How? We've built a unique operating system. Not a tool or a dashboard: a full proprietary OS that lets us deliver best-in-class Google Ads across hundreds of clients without the layers, hierarchy, and overhead of a traditional agency. It's live, it's working, and it's what lets a small team run a book of clients that would normally need a department.
What we need now is the person who owns performance across the whole book.
The role - Head of Performance [Google Ads]
You are the operating layer between the founders and the delivery team. You own three things: client results, team delivery, and knowing where things are going wrong before they escalate.
The founders shouldn't be managing accounts, chasing tasks, or finding problems themselves. That's your job, and it's why the role exists.
- Own client performance across the full book. Every account is your responsibility. Not doing it all yourself, but having visibility, applying the process, and making sure the team executes. We stand behind every account: nothing in there by accident, every decision deliberate and explainable. Every client tracked against the target. Underperformers get a diagnosis and a plan. Performers get the next move, not maintenance.
- Own retention: Clients stay when the results are there. You make churn a weekly discipline, not a monthly post-mortem: who's at risk, why, and what we're doing about it. Spot the patterns and bring fixes.
- Be responsible for the delivery team: You directly manage the delivery team. Tasks, deadlines, quality review before anything reaches a client. The team comes to you first. Rarely should anything reach the founders without going through you. To be clear, this isn't a pure management role. You'll be in accounts, making tactical Google Ads decisions and implementing them yourself, certainly for now. If you've drifted away from the tools and want to stay there, this isn't for you.
- Be the intelligence layer: Founders hear about problems from you, not the other way around. Account issues, team delivery risks, at-risk clients: you find them first and arrive with a recommended action.
- Sharpen the machine: You're close enough to the work to see where time is being lost and where the process breaks. You don't need to build the tools, but you frame the opportunity clearly: what's broken, what good looks like, how it fits the workflow. You make sure the team actually uses what's been built.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How we'll measure it
- Client retention
- Account performance across the entire book
- Delivery team output, quality, and consistency
- How rarely the founders have to get involved
What you get
- A role that doesn't exist anywhere else: head of performance at a new breed of agency, running on its own operating system, 18 months in and accelerating.
- Scope that grows with the business. It's a big job today. In two years it's a very different one, and you'll have built the team under you to run it.
- 4.5 day week - half day Friday’s
- Direct line to the founders. No layers.
- Competitive salary plus a retention bonus that grows with the book. Reviewed as the business scales.
- Autonomy over where and when you work.
- A proper laugh along the way.
How to apply
Send us two short answers, a paragraph each:
- Running Google Ads at scale means holding a high standard across every account, every week, without the founders checking. What's the one standard you'd refuse to compromise on, and how would you make sure a team actually meets it?
- What do Google Ads agencies look like in 2030?
One thing on AI. We use LLMs more heavily and more creatively than almost any agency you'll come across, and we'll expect you to as well. But this bit is about you: how you think and what you actually believe. We run applications through AI detection and won't consider answers that have clearly been generated for you.
