Head of Performance Marketing
London | Hybrid
Senior Leadership Role | In-house Agency
4 Days in the office
Liberty Hive is recruiting on behalf of a leading international organisation looking for an experienced Head of Performance Marketing to join its in-house agency.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a senior performance marketer — ideally from an agency or in-house agency background — who wants to take greater ownership of strategy, investment and results within one organisation.
You’ll lead the paid digital strategy across Meta, Google and LinkedIn, owning budgets, optimisation, measurement and forecasting while managing and developing a team of three.
It’s a highly commercial, data-led role, but one with plenty of scope to innovate. You’ll work closely with creative, web, CRM and analytics teams to improve the full customer journey, while also helping the organisation make smarter use of AI, automation and emerging advertising channels.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading paid digital strategy, planning and implementation across the in-house agency
- Owning significant media budgets and determining investment across channels
- Driving incremental enquiry and lead volume through performance marketing
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of three
- Working across Meta, Google and LinkedIn, while identifying and testing emerging channels
- Building robust measurement, attribution and forecasting frameworks
- Connecting media performance with CRM data to understand lead quality and progression, not simply volume
- Running structured testing across creative, audiences, landing pages and bidding strategies
- Leading incrementality testing to understand the true impact of paid media
- Partnering with web teams to improve conversion throughout the enquiry journey
- Overseeing GA4 and GTM to ensure accurate tracking and measurement
- Working closely with creative teams to develop and test creative that converts
- Planning performance marketing activity around new launches
- Reporting performance, investment and future plans to senior stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

AI & Innovation
AI will be an important part of the role.
You’ll champion its practical adoption across the performance marketing team, using AI to improve creative testing, audience research, reporting, optimisation and team efficiency.
You’ll help establish best practice around tools, prompts and review standards; identify opportunities to automate manual processes; and ensure the team gets the best from platform AI and automated bidding while knowing when human judgement should take priority.
There will also be an opportunity to explore and test new advertising opportunities within AI assistants and LLM-powered platforms as the market develops.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with:
- 8+ years’ experience in performance or paid digital marketing
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Strong agency, in-house agency or similarly fast-paced performance marketing experience

- Experience managing and developing teams
- Experience owning significant media budgets
- Strong knowledge of Meta, Google and LinkedIn
- Advanced knowledge of GA4 and GTM
- Experience across attribution, forecasting, incrementality testing and conversion rate optimisation

- Confidence working with and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Global experience
