Technology at Schroders
There's a huge amount of change going on at Schroders. Technology's shaping our business more and more, so there are many opportunities waiting to be grabbed. And because we're a big financial player, we can put hefty backing behind good ideas. We're a serious business – we have enormous responsibilities to our clients and shareholders. But just because we're suited and booted, that doesn't make us stuffy; our tech teams are friendlier and more informal than you might expect.
The team
You will lead platform architecture team across Enterprise Technology, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology. Your scope includes Cloud Platforms (AWS and Azure) and Infrastructure, Developer Platforms (GitHub, Azure DevOps and AI-enabled engineering practices), the AI Platform (Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore), and Superhighway, our agentic developer platform.
You will define the architecture strategy, standards and roadmap for these platforms. For Enterprise Data, you will provide architectural leadership across platform integration, interoperability, data access and governance alignment, partnering closely with the Enterprise Data Platform team, which retains ownership of data platform architecture.
Working with Enterprise Architecture, you will ensure platform strategies align with business priorities, enterprise standards, target architectures and transformation goals. Together, you will establish shared principles, resolve competing priorities and drive a cohesive technology landscape.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
