Head of Platform & Enablement
London | Hybrid
Build the engine room for the next chapter of Joss Search.
Most operations leadership roles are about keeping the wheels turning, but ours is about building a better machine together.
Joss Search started life as an award-winning recruitment business. We're becoming something bigger: an ecosystem of people, tools, and intelligence that helps some of the world's leading investment firms run brilliantly. As we grow across the UK, Europe, and the US, we need someone to build the operational foundations underneath it all.
That's this role, and it's one of the most important hires we'll make this year!
You'll own the operational backbone of Joss's finance, compliance, systems, automation, technology, suppliers, and business operations. You'll work hand-in-glove with our Chief of Staff and Founder to transform how we operate, drive automation through everything we do, and build the kind of infrastructure that lets every Jossie do their best work. The kind of operational excellence that looks, from the outside, as if by magic.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll lead our Platform & Enablement function—a team spanning finance, operations, and compliance while delivering a genuinely broad transformation agenda:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Owning our operational infrastructure across the UK, US, and Europe
- Bringing day-to-day finance further in-house and turning financial data into sharper decisions
- Driving automation and AI across the whole business not as a buzzword, as a way of working
- Making our systems and processes simpler, faster, and better
- Leading compliance, governance, and risk
- Managing our key supplier, technology, and banking relationships
- Building resilience and continuity, so nothing rests on a single person
- Growing and mentoring a brilliant operations team
- Constantly asking: where can we free up time to do work that matters more?
Why this isn't your average Head of Ops role
Because you're not inheriting a machine to maintain; you're building one. You'll take on critical operational knowledge from our Chief of Staff and create an entirely new function designed to carry us through the next decade of growth. You'll have a real mandate: improve it, automate it, reimagine it.
The person who thrives here will love the detail—finance, systems, process, and lift their head to think about how you scale a business. Both, not one or the other.
