The role
This company builds a surgical intelligence platform that turns medical imaging into real-time 3D guidance, enabling complex, life-changing surgeries. They are rapidly scaling, pushing toward OEM-integrated hardware partnerships that bring their platform directly into the operating room.
You will own the entire Platform Software pillar: the Hub UI, the Surgical OS SDK, the edge deployment stack, and the cybersecurity posture required for hospital deployments. This is a rare seat to lead a growing team, delivering a commercial SDK that is a key unlock for the business, not just managing internal libraries or theoretical research.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The work
- Own the Hub UI, from clinician-facing interface to deployment at an anchor hospital by Q4 2026.
- Architect and run the edge stack on NVIDIA AGX-class hardware, maintaining sub-20ms latency with OTA updates and federated learning.
- Drive the platform's security posture, leading the path to SOC 2 Type II by Q4 2027.
- Deliver a v1 Surgical OS SDK, ready for OEM term sheets by Q1 2027 and signed contracts by Q2 2027.
- Scale and mentor a growing platform team (currently four engineers) to support expanding hospital deployments.
What You Bring
- You have shipped an SDK or partner-facing API that saw external integration, not just an internal library.
- You are hands-on with real-time, low-latency systems (C++, Rust, or similar) where sub-20ms targets are familiar territory.
- You have direct experience with edge or on-prem deployment, ideally on NVIDIA AGX-class hardware, including OTA updates and federated learning patterns.
- You have led a software engineering team of 4+ and can still dive into code or critical integration issues when needed.
- You understand the operational realities of SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 compliance, even if you haven't personally held the certifications.
- You are based in or around London and comfortable with 3+ days a week in-person with a small, fast-moving team.
