Head of Portfolio Implementation

TPT Investment Management is looking for an experienced Head of Portfolio Implementation to lead the implementation of client investment strategies. The role is responsible for ensuring that investment decisions are implemented through efficient portfolio monitoring, rebalancing, asset transitions, and effective governance.

Working with a wide range of teams across the business, including Investment Management, Investment Operations, Client Management, and Business Development, you’ll help ensure strategies are delivered accurately, effectively, and with strong risk controls.

This is an FCA Certified Role.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the portfolio implementation function, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across systems and processes
  • Responsible for monitoring and rebalancing across client portfolios and TPT Funds
  • Owning, maintaining, and enhancing portfolio management, monitoring, and analytics tools
  • Identifying opportunities to improve implementation efficiency through automation and process improvements
  • Planning and delivering asset transitions for new and existing clients
  • Ensuring portfolio data, processes, and controls are robust, documented, and applied consistently
  • Oversight of the implementation framework, including error prevention and root cause analysis
  • Working with internal teams and external advisers on liability benchmark construction and implementation
  • Supporting client, consultant, and prospect discussions, including due diligence, research exercises, and pitches
  • Keeping your knowledge current and sharing learning with colleagues

What We’re Looking For

  • Investment and pensions experience from an investment manager, fiduciary manager, or in-house occupational pension scheme, with a strong understanding of portfolio implementation, trade execution, monitoring, asset transitions, and pension scheme investment strategies
  • Experience implementing multi-asset portfolios across a range of investment strategies
  • Experience of managing liability portfolios, constructing liability hedging solutions, and rebalancing portfolios against pre-agreed strategic asset allocations
  • Experience overseeing asset transitions involving multiple interested parties, including custodians, investment managers, and platforms
  • Strong risk management, critical reasoning, and numerical skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex implementation activity
  • Confidence using Excel, Microsoft Office, and industry standard portfolio management systems
  • A proactive, curious, and independent approach to problem solving
  • The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and build effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience is required for this role

This role may involve traveling to attend client or intra-group meetings, including traveling to Leeds where TPT has its head office.
