We are seeking a passionate and commercially driven Head of Portfolio to join Croda Pharma, within our ingredients business focussed on oral and topical pharmaceutical formulations. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for leading the strategic management of the product portfolio to maximise market impact and business growth.

The successful candidate will combine analytical rigour with strong leadership and collaboration skills to drive sustainable growth across the Pharma Ingredients portfolio.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar role with strategic planning and execution capability, preferably within pharma, speciality chemicals, or related sectors
  • Experience developing and implementing global portfolio or product strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic investment decisions, prioritise growth opportunities, and optimise portfolio performance
  • Ability to translate market insights into portfolio, innovation, or commercial strategies
  • Experience working closely with R&D and innovation teams to shape product
  • An inspiring and motivating leader with the ability to engage and successfully work in a highly matrix organisation, with cross functional and culturally diverse teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to build effective working relationships and networks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex data into clear business recommendations
  • Degree in a scientific, pharmaceutical, chemical, business, or related discipline
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for shaping and managing our topical and oral excipient portfolios taking commercially focused decisions to maximise business execution and profitability
  • Analysis of financial data and leading indicators to guide strategic portfolio decisions to prioritise high growth areas and act on underperforming products
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategic Marketing, to understand and leverage future market trends, insights and voice of customer in your focus markets. Build into portfolio strategies and roadmaps, aligning with and influencing global stakeholders
  • Ensure portfolio strategy is market led and customer-centric
  • Define pricing corridors that set boundaries for our key portfolios
  • Work with regional commercial teams to develop regionals execution plans in alignment with the global strategy and marketing plan for your portfolios
  • Manage cross-functional teams across marketing, R&T, commercial teams to define portfolio strategies and translate them into actionable plans and initiatives
  • Track and report portfolio performance, with a focus on profitability and impact of recent activities. Provide insights and recommendations to marketing and leadership
  • Collaborate with regional teams, providing portfolio insights and strategy direction to help identify market opportunities, customer unmet needs and competitor threats

Additional Information

This role can be based at any of our sites across Europe, we will expect travel to the office site and our HQ in Cowick, East Yorkshire (UK).
