Head of Portfolio Risk & Analytics, GTS UK

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Portfolio Risk & Analytics, GTS UK. The base location for this role can be London, Birmingham, Manchester or Worthing.
Reporting to the Head of Product Risk, you’ll lead the Global Trade Solutions Portfolio Risk & Risk Analytics team, delivering portfolio risk insight using data, models and market intelligence.
In this role you will:
- Own portfolio risk monitoring and MI, identifying trends/early warning signals and supporting timely action by frontline/product teams
- Lead strategic projects to deliver risk enabled growth at a national level
- Oversee implementation of risk data and reporting related enhancements for RF via the IFAI modernisation project
- Own the risk review meeting pack (key RF risk control), ensuring accurate and decision-ready reporting
- Enhance and streamline risk measurement and reporting frameworks/tools to support risk-enabled growth
- Identify and investigate key emerging risks (including 1PLF), escalating and supporting mitigation to prevent losses or service issues
- Provide data/analysis to Finance and regulatory reporting (including buyer impairments)
- Drive operational improvements that strengthen risk management and improve client experience; partner with GTS stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Deep understanding of Trade Finance and Receivables Finance Solutions
- Practical experience working on data, analytics or data related projects
- Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to senior stakeholders
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple and competing priorities

London office relocation: Between January and April 2027, many office-based HSBC employees in London will move from either 8 Canada Square or Queen Victoria Street to one of our new sites at St. Paul’s or Canary Wharf. Depending on when they join, successful candidates may start at an existing office before moving or join directly at a new location.
