Who are Coolr?
We’re an independent social media agency and team of creatives, social experts, content publishers and change makers. Completely wired into popular culture, our work connects brands with their audiences at scale. With clients such as Burger King, Lidl, Deliveroo and Compare the Market (to name drop a few) our aim is to be the biggest social agency in the world.
The agency is growing at a rapid rate, but we’re only just getting started. In 2026, we have ambitious plans to truly become the stand-out social agency in the UK, the US, and beyond. We have a strong platform for growth and have made great strides forward – now we really want to take things to the next level.
About the role:
As Head of PR & Comms, you’ll own how Coolr shows up in the industry, building our reputation, creating opportunities to put our work and thinking in front of the right people, and making sure our profile reflects our ambition.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership and teams across the agency, turning our people’s expertise and perspectives into compelling narratives, thought leadership and media opportunities that build Coolr’s authority and influence.
You’ll set the PR and thought leadership strategy, own our presence across the UK and US media landscape, and report directly to leadership on impact. Most importantly, you’ll have real influence over how Coolr is perceived at a pivotal moment in our growth, helping us become the standout social agency in the UK, US and beyond.
The job 💻
PR Strategy & Media Relations
- Own and shape Coolr’s PR strategy, building a distinctive and consistent presence across the media that reflects who we are, what we’re great at and where we’re going.
- Build genuine, long-term relationships with journalists and editors across the UK and US, particularly across titles such as Campaign, The Drum, Adweek, PRWeek, Ad Age and beyond.
- Be constantly looking for the next story — turning our work, culture, data, people and point of view into proactive stories that earn attention rather than simply waiting for press opportunities to come to us.
- Take the lead when the press comes calling, managing reactive enquiries quickly and confidently and ensuring every interaction strengthens Coolr’s reputation.
- Keep a close eye on what’s landing, using coverage, performance and industry insight to demonstrate impact and continually evolve our approach.
Thought Leadership & Content
- Define the topics, conversations and points of view Coolr should be known for, building a thought leadership programme that gives the agency a meaningful voice in the industry.
- Work with senior leaders and experts across the agency to turn their expertise into compelling opinion pieces, trend reports, whitepapers, interviews and other content that people actually want to read.
- Working with our Marketing Lead on spotting opportunities for Coolr to contribute to the conversations shaping social, creativity, culture and the wider industry — and make sure we have something interesting to say when we do.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Work with our teams to uncover the strongest stories behind our work and turn them into compelling entries that showcase the creativity, strategic thinking and results behind what we do.
- Make sure every shortlist and win works harder for the business — turning recognition into PR opportunities, social content, credentials and new business conversations.

- Build a proactive speaker programme for our senior team, identifying the conferences, panels, podcasts and industry events where Coolr should have a voice.
- Create opportunities for our people to be part of the conversations that matter, raising both individual and agency profiles in the process.
- Represent Coolr at key industry events, building relationships with senior agency and brand-side contacts and bringing back insight that can inform our thinking, reputation and growth.

- Ultimately, make PR a genuine growth driver for Coolr — building the kind of profile and reputation that opens doors with the clients we want to work with.
What we are looking for 👀
We’re looking for a senior PR & Comms leader who knows the agency world inside out — someone who can turn great work, big ideas and smart thinking into the kind of stories people actually want to read.
- Significant agency PR or trade communications experience, either in-house at an agency or within a specialist PR consultancy. With a proven track record of securing proactive, high-quality editorial coverage, not simply relying on reactive press releases or news pickups.
- Strong UK and US media experience, with a genuine understanding of how the two markets differ, what makes a story land in each, and how to tailor an approach accordingly.
- Established relationships with journalists and editors across leading UK and US trade titles, including Campaign, The Drum, PRWeek, Adweek, Ad Age and similar, with the credibility to pick up the phone and have a meaningful conversation with them.
- An exceptional writer. Whether it’s a press release, award entry, editorial pitch, thought leadership piece or social post, you know how to find the angle, sharpen the story and make every word earn its place.
- Highly self-sufficient and proactive. You’ll be comfortable owning the PR pipeline, spotting opportunities before they’re obvious, managing senior stakeholders and getting things done without needing to be hand-held.
- Commercially minded. You understand that great PR isn’t just about impressing the industry — it’s about making an agency look credible, relevant and valuable to current and prospective clients.
- A genuine passion for the agency and social landscape. You read the trades, know what’s happening in the industry, understand what clients and competitors are talking about — and get a genuine buzz from seeing our work and our name in the right places.
